Woo-hoo! 861 words of fiction in T'aint so far today! That puts me at about 75,000 words. Before I began writing today, I spent about an hour combining the two most recent versions into one lumpy manuscript.  As I did so, I began to figure out what to do with the "five things" meme that I'd created, and how my protagonist gets to the location where a key event happens, and how to put in a few other elements that were in my proposal, but that aren't showing up in the story yet.  And then I began yet another rewrite.  With each one, things flow a little more smoothly and the writing becomes more enjoyable.  I have a different beginning scene now.  It may not remain there, because it may not work for the flow of the story.  But it does some good stuff, so I think that in some version or other, it'll stay.

Amended to add:  Did some more writing this evening, made it to 1,061 words total for the day.
