Progress, Storm Clouds

8,381 words total in novel-in-progress Storm Clouds. Today's word count: 810. I was hoping to get up over 1,000 words, but fatigue's set in, and I'm flying all day tomorrow to get to Moose Jaw. G'night, John-boy.
The storm started herding wavelets ahead of itself to shore. They batted, catlike, at my sandaled feet. The fine drizzle was misting up my glasses. "In a minute," I begged. "Can I have one minute?"
The water seemed to recede a fraction, both in the lake and above it. I could have been imagining it, but I still said a polite, "Thank you." You never know.
